Neue Galerie Landshut, Verein für aktuelle Kunst e.V.
„Neue Galerie Landshut e.V.“ is a non profit art association installed to present contemporary art in its variety. Exhibitions of both young and established professional artists are being shown since 1984 about ten times a year. Since 1992 home of „Neue Galerie Landshut e.V.“ is the ancient late medieval „Gothic Stadel“. Not being a white cube, the exhibition space with its old architecture is a challenge for the concepts of contemporary artists – and it often brings up interesting and surprising results.
The gallery is focussed on regional artists from Southern Germany as well as artists from abroad. So the gallery runs exchange programs with non profit institutions in Berlin, Breda (NL) and Tokyo (J).
Usually the artists presented are working with all kinds of media on contemporary topics, e.g. Urbanism, Strategies of Perception, Reality and Fiction, Gender and Sex, Identity and Non-Identity. Connected with the Landshut art scene as well as with local traditions, the intentions of „Neue Galerie Landshut“ are also focused on Ceramic art and – relating to the Renaissance „Kunst- und Wunderkammer“ in the local Trausnitz Castle – on artists working on different strategies concerning (re)search, (re)cognition and (re)construction.
Located in the Munich metropolitan area the Neue Galerie Landshut e.V. attracts numerous visitors from Landshut and  Southern Bavaria with a program able to satisfy their high cultural expectations.
