Marc van Elburg
Do Not Track

Has self-published since the early 90’s a long list of zines, records, tapes, cd’s, and video’s.
He has collaborated with many international artists like Crank Sturgeon, Koh kasahara, Andy
Nukes, Harald sack Ziegler, Rubber o Cement, Mat Brinkman, Zeke Clough ao.
From 2001 until 2007 he was initiator of ‘de Hondenkoekjesfabriek’, a sub cultural hotspot
for outrageous experimental noise performances, trash art-installations and underground
comics. The theatre also hosted a large zine-library.
His recent drawings and paintings are inspired by his noise past in that the process is
mechanically structured like an analogue feedback loop with interchangeable effect modules
and the output is noisy, chaotic and expressive.
A common misconception about free improvisation is that there are no rules.
In fact the opposite is true. At its core, free improvisation is an uncompromising struggle
against routine. This entails a continuous creating of alternative rules, systems and schemes.
